The service is really good but not the vegans wraps were bad and the smoothie bowl was tasting chemical. The falafel burger was really good and the juices taste weird.

A good restaurant in Nusa Dua
My partner and I went to El Merkat specifically for their creme brûlée as it was recommended on Trip Advisor. I was very disappointed to hear that it was no longer on the menu. We both had pasta: I had the Carbonara with ham. It was exactly what you expect a carbonara pasta to taste like and the portion was really generous. My partner on the other hand had the seafood pasta. The portion was a bit smaller than mine and didn’t really contain a lot of seafood. Overall the service was really good and the atmosphere nice, so you can still pay a visit if you are in the area.

Good Food. Service Sucked.
Pros: Generous portions. Creative Menu for all palates. Nice modern decor and relaxing patio just off the fairly calm road. Coffee bar upstairs with free wi-fi. Interesting dessert menu. Cons: Atrociously poor service. Ordered the Salmon and it cam out raw. Asked the server to send it back to the kitchen to put back on the fire to finish cooking it. Ten minutes later, the plate arrived back at the table. The kitchen did not even bother to attempt cooking the fish any more. Not only was the fish still raw, but by this time it was probably colder than the water in which it was caught. Sent it back for a second time. After twenty more minutes, still with no salmon reappearing at the table, we questioned the server AGAIN as to the hold up. We were advised they had simply began preparing a new piece of Salmon. To add insult to injury, the server returned and attempted to take our dessert orders before the second piece of Salmon had been delivered to the table. 45 minutes after sending the fish back the first time we had had enough and gave up. During this fiasco, we happened to observe three other tables with parties that were also experiencing horrid service and were visibly unhappy with their service. The table next to us was seated for twenty minutes before receiving menus and being offered drinks. We observed a guest from another table become so frustrated with the delay of his Paella approach the window of the kitchen and make a very loud complaint to the chef. This complaint seemed to fall on deaf ears as he stormed back to his table obviously irritated and unhappy. Every restaurant has its good days and bad days. Had the place been slammed with customers i could have looked past this disastrous dining event. However with fewer than eight tables occupied out of maybe thirty five, this was unacceptable. Service dropped the ball and the kitchen staff must have been asleep. Was the food good? Yes. Will we return? No.
