Eight treasure is one of the options if you are looking for quite a fancy Chinese food (+ place!). I brought my parents to this restaurant and both of them love it - "the broth is super tasty" they said. For me personally, food is good, fusion dishes are still good - they do not go too overboard in making them fancy. It's quite pricy tho..

Super delicious! The beef was phenomenal and the soup too. I got the original soup that has gelatin base, rich and slightly creamy but not over the top. Vegetables are fresh too. We sat on a private room and overall it was a good experience. Will come back!

Eight Treasures is one of the more upscale hotpot restaurant in Jakarta. They serve ala carte style hotpot where you pick and choose yourself. On the menu, they have spicy / non-spicy and non-pork broth that goes with your meat and sides. I chose their spicy broth and I can assure you if you like mala-type spicy food, you need to get this one. My choice include the beef, pork, meatballs and some veggies. The quality of the meat is outstanding, lots of marbling and sliced thinly well. Their tofu skin is surprisingly very good and one of the highlight here.
