First visit was great, second slightly disappointing
Had two evening dinners, one at the start of the holiday, the second on the last night. We had the same starter and main, Vietnamese rolls and corn fritters and local mango chilli salad, followed by prawn pad thai. First visit exceptional, second visit perhaps a different chef as the pad Thai was Luke warm. Definitely worth a visit and would recommend for a evening meal

Not worth it
We went to Dulang restaurant yesterday evening. A few things: - it’s not clear either on the St Regis website or by speaking to hotel staff that the only option is a tasting menu. If we had known that in advance, we wouldn’t have reserved it. Bit hard to get up and leave after sitting down though, particularly after discussing with the staff as noted below. - my mother is very sensitive to spicy food - cannot have it at all due to various stomach issues. We raised this immediately and were told that the spicy bits could be addressed and moved to the side as a sauce. With that in mind, we felt ok staying even though the menu had no choice options. This was unfortunately false. Of the items on the tasting menu, my mother was unable to eat the chicken, the beef, half of the satay and the crab. Half of the menu was inedible. It was incredibly frustrating to have the staff not be upfront with us when we asked this question, and they later admitted that items were marinated so not able to remove all spice - why not tell us that at the outset?? We were hotel guests and would have happily gone to another hotel restaurant - I can’t imagine that this would reflect poorly on the restaurant given that ultimately we would still be spending money at the hotel. - the staff was very conscientious, and offered my mom some sort of honey beverage once it was clear she was not eating much which they said was used locally to mitigate spice. This was very kind but also just off base - it’s not that she dislikes spice, it physically makes her ill. The appropriate remedy would have been to just tell us this cannot be accommodated. - even for me, who could eat everything, I honestly thought the food was just average. We had lovely food for most of the week around Bali. This meal, which was exponentially more expensive than anything else we ate (over $700k PER PERSON not including wine or other extras) was probably one of the lowest ranked we had. I cannot recommend, which is such a disappointment.

Amazing Indonesian Cuisine
The Indonesian course was delicious and hugeeee, could easily shared by 3 people. The restaurant has less than 10 tables so the service was superb and the staff know the details of the dishes very well. Vegetarian dishes can also be requested.
