Good Taste from a Good Chef

Have Heard about Chef Andrea and his Javanegra from couple friends. One afternoon we tried Daun Muda Soulfood and it was so delicious. All the food are well presented and they all taste yummy. A bit hot spicy but still can be tolerated. One little suggestion for the restaurant as it is located on the corner of the Adityawarman and Wolter Mongonsidi, it is better to have the name of the restaurant on both sides of the street. As we went there and actually it was there already but since it has no signage so we had to make a turn left and left again and back to the same spot as the name of the restaurant was on the other side. Also like to have a little cracker and sambal while we are waiting for the food to come. Interesting place to have a bite with friends and family.

Good Food with UNWELL coordinated service operation

As ex hotelier and restauranteur , the first impression I got for this resto was not that nice. Booked the seats for lunch party and the menu thru supervisor Retno and spoke w the Resto Mgr Lucy who seemed have no idea about the Service Operation and Attitude. Turned out on the d-day, the menu chosen NOT as per last discussion with the supervisor, because she (Retno) mentioned thru wa that she FORGOT to change the whole menu as per updated two days before. And I just found out one hour before the lunch event and that made me ended up spoke with the kitchen staff incharged Sopa to order the menu and order the waiter Teti to divide which menu will be out to one table and another (12 seats and 20 seats) and briefed the waiter to offer drinks and desserts before and after the main courses served. The Resto Mgr Lucy just appeared after the lunch served which didnt seem interested to show any service favor and in contrary asked us (not in such hospitality way) to empty one table that we have prepared for birthday cake for blowing the candle moment. With the reason that table will be used , when it seemed the lunch time has passed and no more guests seemed to come. Overall the food is good and the service was managed and monitored by me as guest/host who was supposed to enjoy the party and NOT being alert for the whole event. I thank waiter Teti and Kitchen Staff Sopa - who seemed able to prepare and well handle the service and the food - even say sorry if the whole opr quite mess and the hospitality of the mgr was far from the expectation. Consider the resto just opened for 7-8 mths and doing expansion, I suggest to really put attention on the key person who is in charged for the whole operation who is supossed to have a service operation Attitude and ofcourse the service operation Knowledge, in order to know what and how to serve guests and manage the service operation in details. Any restaurant can be famous because of its food , but in my 20yrs experiences in hotel / resto and service operation works: With NO GOOD service attitude to serve guests and NO ABILITY to manage the internal service operation , the reputation of the restaurant will be jeopardized and it is only about time for the customers to move to other FB outlets. And in terms of competitionwithin the market - with the same reason above - totally it is a strategic wear-out as Daun Muda to be the new market entry in Restaurant Business.

Delicious traditional Indonesian fare

Everything we had in this restaurant was delicious, the service was fast and very attentive. Why do I rate only 3/5? First of all, there's an open kitchen, and the smell is pervasive, especially the smoke from the smoker which is not led directly outside. That's just not acceptable for a restaurant of this price category. Also, the wooden chairs are uncomfortable and scrape loudly over the tiled floor. The tables have weird diagonal legs which restrict your freedom of movement. The restaurant is clearly designed to look pretty rather than to be comfortable or practical. The menu only lists the mains, there is no drinks menu or dessert menu, so you have to order without knowing the prices. This is a violation of applicable laws.
