We were 18 of us on this evening and I must say we had a wonderful evening. What started out as a casual dinner for one ended up being an amazing evening with my new friends in Ubud. This restaurant was recommended by a friend and the owner Mahesh was so accommodating when I kept adding people to the reservation. This tiny Indian restaurant in the heart of Ubud feels more like you went to dinner at a friends house rather than a restaurant. Mahesh and his lovely wife prepared delicious appetizers for us all to share while he prepared our main courses. As we took over the whole restaurant (it is tiny so book ahead for large groups) we enjoyed delicious papadum, samosas and curried potatoes. We all enjoyed our mains which included vegetarian and meat dishes. I highly recommend the fish moolie, delicious fish curry cooked with coconut milk. Although the food took some time (we were 18!) everything was made with love and from scratch and was worth the wait. If you want a taste of good home made South Indian food in Ubud then you should definitely visit Dapur Malabar.

Worst "indian" food we ever had
Vegetable curry tasted like a dish washer liquid, the rice was looking and tasting as a few days old and vegetarian Dal Masala? Really bad experience, I didn't even finish it, looked like the beans are just poured out from the can and added kind of non tasty sauce with sour end. Totally recommend NOT to go there!
