Sunset dinner at Jimbaran is something special
I would highly recommend a trip to Jimbaran especially to sit back and relax while watching the sunset over the beach, fantastic end to the day. The beach is lined with many restaurants and has a lovely atmosphere in the evening. There were lots of people walking along the beach and local fisherman with their drag nets, and best of all no hawkers! Even if you don’t want to eat here it’s worth a visit just to enjoy the beach, cool breeze and watch the sun go down. We were expecting high prices but we were fortunate enough to find a place that we thought was reasonable. Damos Café http://www.damoscafe.com. The waiters were very friendly and provided excellent service. Balinese dancers performed at least 3 times while we were there. Cost of our meal for 2 people was around 650,000 ($75 AUD) for 1kg of king prawns, 1kg snapper, rice, soup, fruit, 3 beers, 2 cocktails and soft drinks. The cost by Bali standards is expensive, but certainly not in comparison to the seafood restaurants back home. It would cost about that for one person for the meal alone. The food was delicious, filling and the best dinning experience. You choose your own seafood and the prices are per kilo. Also choose how you would like it grilled with chilli, garlic, satay, etc. I found this site useful http://www.buravi.com/jalan/jimbaran/jmb_ikan_map.html. A map of the area listing all the restaurants/cafes, and a link to each with contact details, website (if available) and photos.
