we popped into this spot after dinner nearby and we ended up staying all night! the most amazing Beatles tribute band was on and the atmosphere was brilliant. it may not be high end but that wasn't what we wanted - lots of drinks offers and well priced beers etc. live music and dancing. on our last night in Sanur we came back here for a quick visit and again ended up staying on. took part in the quiz night and got chatting to a few other guests. really fond memories of this fun spot!

oh no, not Latin music!
we were looking for somewhere to get out of the rain and have a few drinks and came across Casablancas. Had read about the place previously and sounded ok. We arrived about 8:30, an average crowd was there. Ordered the bintang bucket which was slightly cheaper before 9pm (125,000 instead of 150,000), cocktails were expensive, they do have deals though at different days and times. Unfortunately the night we chose happened to be a band playing latin music which is not our cup of tea, although the female singer did have a very nice voice! Couldnt understand the male singer at all when singing latino songs, not sure if maybe he was singing in another language. What spoilt it for us was a couple of well practiced latin dancers from Casablancas (we presume) showing off their dancing which was basically the same few moves over and over again, but it looked ok for that sort of thing.. They then came around asking other people to dance with them, not many takers except one guy who was well lubricated but still coherent and with legs! He came up after being asked, once on the dance floor he was doing his moves, dancing his style and enjoying himself, the woman who got him up to dance and was supposed to dance with him for some reason would not dance with him now, even after he was beckoning her, politely to come and dance with him. After all she was the one who encouraged him to come up and dance! Continuously was stand offish with him and stared weirdly at him, so he gave up with her and asked the guy to come and dance instead. He came up and proceeded to stand on the dance floor with his arms crossed and just looked at him, leaving him dancing by himself, and making him look a bit silly, all this after he was asked to dance with the female. Not sure what was going on. he wasn't aggressive or pushy or impolite in anyway, his dancing style wasn't outrageous in anyway so couldn't figure out why they left him hanging. Perhaps because he couldn't dance their way, they didn't want a bar of it, we don't know. This couple came across as a bit stuck up and thought they were a bit better than they actually were. And this we thought was very rude and uncalled for. This guy who was called up to dance was with his friend, maybe in their 50's, his friend was videoing this with his phone, hoping for a good holiday memory. After we finished our drinks, the band had stopped for a break so we just left. Overall, would try again in future on rock night which currently is Thursday night.

A Lively Night Out
This was the only bar in Sanur we found that was lively and busy during the time we were there. We didn’t eat there as the menu is pub grub. They have live music here every night it seems and the band playing when I was there were good and really got the crowd going and up dancing. It’s a good atmosphere and well worth a visit if you like to dance and are looking for a lively night out.
