Great food, quiet atmosphere
It's a bit off the Ubud beaten track, but I'd recommend visiting this restaurant for some great Balinese food. I had traditional fish wrapped in banana leaf with rice and Sam all which was wonderful. The also do pizza and burgers but I didn't try either. The furnishings are very tasteful and comfortable, with chairs and tables made of solid wood. There is a nice view of the pool and you can see rice fields surrounding the restaurant in the day.

Worth a detour
Away from the noisy high street sits Cafe Pemulan, in a very pleasant and relax setting with quality furnitures and even a swimming pool. It feels more like a bobo chic beach club in the jungle than a regular restaurant. I liked that... I had nice and crispy chicken dumplings (20k) as a snack with a well made mojito (70K). Soto Ayam (55k) to follow which was full of flavours, thanks to a great chicken broth. Greedy Dessert as banana fritters with ice cream (30k) was spot on with a light & crispy batter. Overall food was better than all places I tried in Raja Ubud so far. Service was attentive and friendly with a good level of English. Would highly recommend as a change from the busy high street.
