Ants in my food and terrible even without!
I was quite excited to go in here as I've never been before and, since the movie is one of my all time favourites, it really brought a nostalgic smile to my face when I entered. I baulked a little when I saw the prices (easily the most expensive I've seen in the area and I've eaten some terrific food around there). Even so, I thought I'd treat myself and decided to go with the "Customers' No.1 Choice" at 300RP + tax. Well, I was about as disappointed as I think I've ever been with the food. It was greasy, luke-warm, pretty tasteless garbage (worse that your usual fast food fare in complete honesty). I sampled a little of each item, Then I found the tiny ants crawling around in my food! The waitress said sorry and removed the items in question. In fairness, the manager came to apologise (after I said I was unhappy to another waitress). She said I didn't have to pay for the meal or I could get a different meal - I said I would never eat a thing there again, before going to the toilet to wretch. If that was the customers' number 1 choice then I dread to think what anything else is like! Go to Bluefin down the road instead (amazing food).

Fantastic but pricey
Had the ribs, huge meal, fantastic, the knife just fell through them. So tender and tasty drinks were great also. Staff attentive and fun. Always had good food ever time I have been there.

Everything has gone downhill except the prices!
We have visited this BG in Bali several times over the years and always loved the food, service and experience, plus visited many other BGs around the world. We considered ourselves big fans of BG but no anymore! We were ushered into the restaurant quickly, there were many empty tables, and asked if we would like to order a drink. We knew what we liked from previous visits so husband ordered his favourite 'coronita' and I ordered a standard cocktail. Once the attendant left we had a chance to look at the menu.. we had just ordered two drinks at around AUD $50, apparently the prices had gone through the roof since our last visit 18 months prior. While this initial shock was taken as a mistake on our part and we laughed about it, we were then constantly interrupted at the table throughout the visit which became very annoying. The famous GO/ STOP signage system is redundant; there is someone popping over every two minutes anyway. Examples like a minute after our drinks arrived, someone was over asking how they were.. we actually haven't had a chance to drink it yet! Same with the food.. someone came over within two minutes to see how it was and suggest we look at the dessert menu; we had barely made a dent in the mains by that stage. We also had someone pop over to give us an awkward quiz about Forrest Gump, which we found really uncomfortable and unnecessary.. maybe if there were children at the table it would have been fun, but for a couple wanting to have a nice night out it was just weird. We certainly appreciate friendly service, service Bali is famous for, but this visit to BG was overbearing, completely cringeworthy, and we felt like every effort was being made to squeeze maximum dollars out of us. The food was average, very oily, and certainly not value at $120 AUD for two basic mains and two cocktails, no entrees or desserts. You're paying fine dining prices for rubbish.. go somewhere else for better seafood or fried chicken. To further dampen our spirits after this annoying visit, the cocktail cups the used to be free to take home with certain drinks for no longer free souvenirs. To keep the cup, they now ask for an additional 150,000 rp, which is quite a bit when you've already paid the best part of 300,000rp for the drink itself. When we asked about how the cups used to be free, the waiters played as if it was never the case.. We have a cupboard full of BG cups at home that we've collected from Bali, Hawaii, San Fran and Hong Kong as recently as mid 2017, so know better and felt this really reduced the holiday novelty factor of a BG visit. We love using the BG cups at home to remember our travels, but won't be taking any home this trip! Overall, this restaurant is now a blatant cash grab with overbearing service and average food. After many years of visiting at least once every Bali trip, we will no longer be returning.
