The highest and tastiest level Indonesian (street) cuisine can attain at Revolution Dinner
As part of the Keraton hotel, you should definitely not miss out on dining here. I experienced the "Revolution Dinner", which is available on Friday nights. The selection of Indonesian street-food prepared to five star standards shows you both the deliciousness of Indonesian cuisine and the competence of the chefs in really elevating the dishes to the highest level. The cocktails on offer are interesting and delicious. The breakfast buffet already makes for a hard choice in what dishes you want to try from the buffet tables or made to order. Staff is very attentive and will offer help whenever they see a sprig of doubt in your eyes when you're looking at the different dishes. The coffee (which was a bit tricky in some other places I visited on Java) was fantastic, with a great espresso making you ready for the day. If you're staying on Sundays, try out the (expensive but worth it) Sunday Brunch. The amount of dishes for you to indulge in is now really dazzling, and you will probably end up not eating for the rest of the day. My personal thanks go out to Oby, which kept coming up with some great dishes and drinks to taste! Make sure you taste the lobster and the eggs benedict and, if you're feeling really brave, order the steak and eggs for breakfast. Don't walk past the pastries/ dessert buffet, which I typically find to be way too sweet or dry outside of Europe, but really impressed me here.

Wow - what an amazing impromptu choice! As a single traveller, I am not a fan of brunches, but this one was delicious, tasty and funky. There was a resident DJ that played chilled brunch music which was not too loud or intrusive. He really connected with the diners as opposed to' just playing his set'! The food was diverse and expansive featuring a lot of fresh seafood and a live grill cooking meats to your preference. What was unique about the set up was that it featured a lot of 'street food' so you could explore some of the real local flavours, such as gado-gado, and the sweet drinks with all the fruit condiments that the locals drink. There are also several a-la carte options given as choice. This brunch is suitable for a single traveller or would be amazing with a bunch of friends or colleagues.
