A cheap and cheerful in a place where all restaurants cost little
We had lunch here and as we suspected it was old style and not been renovated. A bit rough and ready in the decor but an upstairs position which gave a great view of the street and fun people watching. As it was a cheap cheerful aspect, the food was even cheaper than usual Ubud prices. I had beans with coconut and spices and steamed rice as I am vegetarian. It was surprisingly tasty and a good lunch choice. Cost? $1.70 AU. Just wow.

A little surprised to read so many positive reviews of this place because our experience wasn’t very good at all. We visited in the evening and the electricity kept cutting out so we couldn’t even see each other half the time. There was an ants nest right next to the table and the food was pretty average. I had a chicken curry which was ok but my partner had a meat omelette which wasn’t good. He also ordered a Fanta and was given fizzy water in a Fanta bottle instead. It is cheaper than most of the other restaurants in the area but the owners don’t seem to be putting in much effort at all.

good local food at local prices
Restaurant is located on 2nd floor and entry to stairs looks a little rough, especially compared to the higher end places nearby. Food however was very good, true local flavours and ingredients with local prices. Try the beans and rice with coconut or the cap cay. We ate there twice, both were good.
