Very good food
The food is very good. But the service is slow. Maybe because they don't need a good one. Recommended menu is Bakwan Campur and Es Cincau, the best item is bakwan udang.

Good cheap food
This small restaurant is making cheap but good Indonesian food. Their specialty is meat balls, but you can also find fried noodles, rice, dumplings... It's a nice restaurant to have lunch and break from the office.

One of Jakarta's best!!
This is brand from Surabaya where supposedly "bakwan surabaya" came from. Bakwan is actually a glorified meat ball dish with a number of extra things in it such as siomay, tahu bakso, and different even intestines in some places. Here they have a very good meat ball with the right texture when you bite it. The fried tofu is also well done. The fried siomay might not be as good as some other places but it still tanks up there. Now what can make or break a dish like this is usually the chilly sauce and the soup. Soup is up to par with the usual msg / taste enhancer but the chilli is nice, hot, and fresh. It is a very good restaurant and i frequent it because it is close to my house. There is another very popular one down the corner but the amount of msg they use is just horrific that i stay away from it. So if you looking to try one of Indonesia's traditional street food this is a good place to go. They also serve a few home style chinese indonesian food. Enjoy!!
