Trying Again - Yes
Some 15 years ago , maybe at a first visit ever to Jakarta , we tried Mbok Berek. I could not enjoy that small chicken and other Javanees food. Now, I fully enjoyed it , all of it , but at many places in Indonesis the service needs a facelift!! A clean place and no flies pls.

Very big parking space. And you get what you expect. Crunchy fried chicken. The recipe was original, similar to the one from Jogja.

Central Javanese Fried Chicken
The chicken was braised in coconut before fried producing soft tasty meat covered by layer of the coconut batter. Another good dish was fried milky fish that has been pressurized cooked previously until the fish bone was soft to the level that could be eaten. The beauty was the eater did not have to worry the fishbone would choke him. If you arebtired of fried dishes, another option is gudeg, a very traditional central java dish which I think is too sweet. The only down side was the service. The staffs were unattentive and slow.
