Simply the best Ayam in Yogyakarta - the one restaurant you should vist
This is a great restaurant. There are many restaurants I like in Yogya and visit regularly but this one is still the best in my honest opinion. And I have been here many many times. In fact I eat here every day when I go to school to study Bahasa Indonesia to eat for lunch, The staff is very friendly and the service is great too. And your order is served quickly as three or four people bring all you ordered and need to eat and drink. The menu chart is not long; there is white rice to choose and 5 vegetable dishes, and chicken. Ayam is Indonesian. Fried chicken to be precise, hence the name Ayam Goreng Bu Tini. Bu Tini is the lady who started this restaurant. And that fried chicken is amazing! The taste is special and extremely tasteful. If you visit Yogya you should go here and eat ayam goreng. You can order all parts of a chicken or a whole chicken if you are with more people. I personal can recommend: gending. If you have eaten it here am I sure you want to go eat here again. I have eaten here at least already 50 times and I will go here again so I know what I talk about. If you don't belief me, ask about the white man in Batik who comes here every day when he goes to school and eats gending and sayur asem or sayur broccoli and they tell you. You might need to speak Indonesian or Javanese as English is difficult for the staff. Oh I almost forget. When you enter there is a big table with many snacks...those are also very tasty. However if you try too much of these you don't have enough space left to try the ayam goreng. So be careful. I would recommend the lumpia. At lunch time the is live music with guitar and a friendly lady who sings keroncong. It makes eating here even more interesting. Selamat makan!

Best chicken in Yogyakarta!
We spent a week in Yogyakarta and went here 5 times. We could have probably gone more. Always ate the same dish-- ayam goreng. This isn't the same type of preparation like Ayam Suharti. The sweet kecap based sauce doesn't make the chicken taste very greasy. The skin is not particularly crispy so it seems more like a grilled chicken than deep fried to me. The fantastic sambal adds just the right amount of heat and spicy to keep it interesting. My three boys are fried chicken experts, but this won out hands down. No more forks and knives-- just go local and use your fingers to combine the chicken, rice, and sambal together for finger licking goodness. Oh yes-- the veggies and dessert cakes (kue kue) are good too, but you know why you are here...

I visited with friends. I ordered 4 chickens for 15 person. It was very delicious. The chicken are so tender and sweet. I have to ordered more😂. For vegan, they have vegetables as well. The last day in jogya, i ordered to bring home. They helped me to pack in a big box so i can check in the baggage.
