Delicious Home Style Indonesian Food
Want to try Indonesian cooking, home style? Here's one great joint to visit Stopped by one of their outlets in South Quarter a few weeks ago and ordered gyutan, rice bowl with thin slices of beef tongue in chili and soysauce, delish! My other favorite is the soto banjar. Must try!

So delicious I had to return
I went to an Akasya Express in Kemang. I stayed at a nearby Favehotel. They serve only local food with the exception of Thai tea which I highly recommend you try. When you enter the restaurant, go straight to the food display and they will approach you and take your order. The staff could not speak English so my friend and I settled on pointing to dishes behind the glass. We knew basic words like beef and chicken in bahasa so it was easier. If you want to eat with sambal and make it extra spicy, you can request as well. The dishes are pre-cooked so it's basically like eating at a cafeteria. You can choose to have your dishes served into your own plate of rice or you can choose a few dishes and then just order additional rice for the number of people in your group. Cost of food was very cheap and it was very vey delicious. The venue is air conditioned as well so I had a very pleasant experience especially after walking in the Jakarta sun.
