Treated like a second-class human, Will never go back
This has been one of my most disappointing experiences in Ubud. I had heard good things about Akasha, and went for a lunch and a workshop hosted there. The workshop on Maori birthing practices was great, but the treatment I received from the manager, Isabella was was rude and condescending. Only 4 people attended the workshop, so one would think she would have treated 25% of her paying customers with more hospitality and a warm welcome. Additionally, I am 8 months pregnant, and most places in Bali seem to go the extra mile to make sure I am comfortable. When I arrived at the same time of the instructor of the class, I was completely ignored. The instructor introduced me to Isabella and she barely looked in my direction and then dismissed me and continued talking to the instructor as if I didn’t exist. She asked him what he wanted to eat or drink, and didn’t even direct me to the restaurant, let alone ask if I might like a glass of water. When we sat to eat, she literally turned her body away from me, so I felt isolated and unwelcome. The other staff at the restaurant seemed a bit scared of her, and rather kept their distance. As for the food, I had a burrito, and it was rather bland and overpriced for Bali. No one asked me if I enjoyed the meal of if I wanted anything else. I could go on... But suffice to say, I will never return to this establishment, and I question why the owners would hire someone with such a demeanor. After my experience, I spoke to another woman who had attended a previous workshop with her daughter, who told me she had been treated similarly by Isabella. So I suspect this to be more than just an isolated incident. With so many beautiful restaurants and experiences in Ubud - you can happily miss this one.

Good food, but not excellent.
We went there two times and the food was both times pretty good, but there are better places to eat near to ubud. The location is really beautiful next to ricefields where you can see some fireflys when you're lucky. Be careful with visa-cards, because there machine isn't working correctly. It showed an error three times but when I drove to the next atm everything was working normally. For the staff there, a short "sry" was enough for my inconvenience.. that was sad, cause technical issues can happen but the way they handled it wasn't ok.
