great food, poor acoustics
Unfortunately the acoustics of this restaurant seem to flatten the lovely food, i.e. loud laughter and discussions are reverbarating all over the place. That is a pity, since the Indonesian styled food is wonderful and imaginative. Dishes from all over the archipelago get a proper place and a new twist of two. The bebek bakar with a wonderful seroendeng (I am the one at home who uses to make the seroendeng) was a treat and my wife indulged in the bamboo cooked chicken. Portions are more than sufficient. The red wine could have been chilled a bit, but that is a minor issue.

Agneya is trying to rise its presence as Indonesian Food restaurant in Indonesia. It is providing us with very cozy place, excellent ambience. Some of the food has successfully brought new approach and excellent taste such as Jagung Keriting (Curly Corn), an interesting new take on roasted corn, sweet and savoury. The Ayam Goreng Mentega (Buttered Fried Chicken), as ordinary as it may sound, it tastes very good. But most of the dishes has struggled to champion the highly spiced standard Indonesian classics has. Agneya plays too safely for its Sate dishes, Beef Tongue and Nasi Goreng; Indonesian dishes need more spices, more heat, and more effort to win the heart of the fans.

Good Indonesian Food
The food is good but average except the "grilled duck", I think it is the best and will come back just for this.
