Awful customer service

I went to this restaurant today and I had made a reservation prior because of the reviews on TripAdvisor. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, they asked to check my reservation which i thought was fine and the lady at the front desk, took me to get a seat and we ordered drinks. The restaurant was completely empty. As we were about to order food, as you know this place isn't cheap, the waiter asked to see my reservation again, which I thought was extremely odd because he was at the reception area along with the female waitress when I showed her the reservation, he then took my phone off me and reviewed the reservation. I still placed an order, a rather large order but I felt that I had been treated extremely rudely. I've been in Bali for the past couple of days and I have never experienced something like this before. I really didn't want to stay and eat there anymore. I felt very uncomfortable, so I went to talk to the waiter and waitress at the front desk again and they made an excuse and apologised. But I refused to stay at an establishment which I was simply ridiculed and it was rather embarrassing. So I walked out and left it. There are plenty of restaurants outside who were happy with my business.

Best place for brunch with more English spoken

Rice terrace views are becoming common throughout our travels. None the less, they are a key selling point especially at this eponymous eatery. Starters are a different option and a delightful change from the usual dishes. Peanut chips and rujak, an Indonesian salad with veggies, fruit, tamarind sauce and the plumpest, juiciest prawns. A harvest of food on the end of satay sticks always satisfies especially the local fish variety. Some poor sods ordered the luxury brunch with champers in a silver ice bucket, bagles, smoked salmon, foie gras and a bowl of caviar....

Very good rijsttafel

This restaurant can be found inside the Stones Hotel, in through the security gates. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose a table by the pool, a nice area with pleasant atmosphere. We ordered the rijsttafel which is a multi-dish meal consisting of soup followed by a large plate of different small dishes - and a few different desserts. The meal was delicious! Note that this is an expensive meal by Indonesian standards (580.000 IDR for two persons, drinks not included), but we found it to be a great way to sample what Indonesian cuisine has to offer. Also note that it is a big meal, so make sure you arrive hungry! PS: At the time of writing Tripadvisor got the location of the restaurant wrong. Search for the Stones Hotel to get the right location.
