Great place to stay

We spent here ono week and it was really great stay with nice owners and stuff all around. They have delicious breakfasts, my favorite was pancake with coco and banana and pinaple juice. I highly recommend.

Top quality personal service

We visited here as a family with three children aged six, four and two. The view of the sea was unobstructed and beautiful. The layout of the restaurant was open and beautifully designed with gorgeous wooden furniture and upcycled pieces with a few antiques bringing it altogether. What set our experience apart from other places we have dined was the personal service of the staff. Firstly, they introduced themselves and shook our hands as we told them our names, including the owner. This was a lovely welcoming touch. They have an enclosure with ducks and rabbits which happily occupied the kids, as did the owner's wife showing the kids her dog. This enabled me to steal a few precious kid-free conversations with the other half! There was also an adjoining boutique which housed hand made pieces of clothing, many with traditional Balinese print, made by the talented owner's wife which helped pass the time after ordering. The staff confidently made recommendations and explained the menu. There was a misunderstanding in the order, which resulted in an extra dish being bought to the table. However, we were by no means made to feel uncomfortable about the error. The food was beautifully presented and was delicious. We ordered the spring rolls, barracuda, bebek rendang (duck dish) and laksa udang (coconut chicken shrimp dish). The pancakes were the best I've eaten in Bali. The owner even invited the children into the kitchen to see how they were made. All in all a wonderful experience! Thank you to all the staff.

Organic Balinese Cooking Class in Amed

Anis, the owner of Cafe Harmony in Amed, gave us today a private cooking class (450'000 rupie/ person). Everything was well prepared and organised, as she gives regular cooking lessons. First, she showed her organic fruit and vegetable garden. Then she showed us how to prepare pastes, a fish and a chicken dish, and 2 vegetable plates. Definetely very tasty! The course including eating takes about 2-2.5 hours, but we learned a lot in this little time. They start classes at 11 am (lunch) or at 5 pm for dinner. I definetely can recommend it. I didn't first find the contact information, so I went directly to the restaurant. Anis number is 006287762171799 or email amedharmony@gmail.com
