Tegal is the name of an autonomous region in Central Java, which runs along the North Coast line (Pantura), precisely about 165 kilometers west of Semarang. The city is so strategically connecting the regional and national economic channels of Pantura region from west to east (Jakarta - Surabaya) and vice versa.
The position is quite close to make migrants from the city of Semarang generally ride the train to visit Tegal. Both cities are connected by a rail line through the relation of Semarang Poncol Station (SMC) - Tegal Station (TG). This land trip usually takes about 2 - 2.5 hours each way.

Poncol Station was established in 1914 with the ownership status in the hands of SCS (Semarang-Cheribon Stoomtram Maatschappij). Now, this station is under the management of PT. KAI (Persero) Daop 4 Semarang. Semarang Poncol Station is the second largest station in Semarang, after Semarang Tawang Station.

It is only a 5- minute drive from the west side of Toko Oen and Kota Lama. Access to this station is available via TransSemarang Corridor 3 and 4 and red public transportations.
Tegal Station includes a large railway station located at the western end of Daop 4 Semarang. The address of the station is recorded at Jalan Semeru number 16, Slerok, Tegal Timur, Tegal - Central Java 52125. The location is about 100 meters east of Tegal Town Square (Alun-alun Tegal).
Tegal Station is one of the oldest stations in Indonesia since it has been operating since 1885. Currently, Tegal Station has already provided modern airport-style facilities such as self-check-in, online ticketing system, and special boarding passes for medium and long-distance trains.

Rita Park is the new destination in Tegal which is currently a hit. This playground occupies a land area of 2.4 hectares on Jalan Colonel Soegiono number 155, Pesurungan Kidul, Tegal Barat. This makes it the largest playground in Central Java. Here, there are more than 20 kinds of play rides, from the casual to the gut-challenging rides. Rita Park is open every day from 13:00 to 21:00. On special weekends and holidays, this playground operates early, starting from 09.30 - 18.00.
As the name implies, this park is a typical tourist destination for Tegal people. Local people prefer to call it with the abbreviation "Trasa". New Trasa has been open since 2013, which provides a relaxing park with lots of people's entertainment. On the inside, there is a pavilion for gathering places, skating park, a stage for cultural performances, souvenir center, to the authentic culinary center of Tegal. Travelers can find the Slawi Ayu People's Park on Jalan Jenderal A. Yani, Procot - Slawi Wetan, just in front of Slawi Bus Terminal.
