Majapahit Train is a nonsubsidized Economy Class train that serves the main route from Malang to Jakarta. This express train connects Malang Kota Baru Station and Jakarta Pasar Senen Station through Semarang Tawang Station. Passengers who take the train will enjoy the beautiful scenery during the trip, as the train is passing by the North Coast Road or Jalur Pantai Utara (Pantura) along Pekalongan and Semarang, Demak, Grobogan, and Solo-Madiun. As arranged by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (persero), Majapahit Train runs only one round-trip per day. Taking about 15 hours and 38 minutes long, the train leaves Malang Kota Baru Station at 06:30 pm and arrives at Jakarta Pasar Senen Station by 10:08 am on the next day. From Jakarta Pasar Senen Station, the train departs at 06:15 pm and arrives at Malang Kota Baru Station by 10:05 am on the next day, which means the train takes 15 hours and 50 minutes long trip. During the trip from Malang to Jakarta and vice versa, Majapahit Train halts at some stations. They are Malang Kota Lama Station, Kepanjen Station, Wlingi Station, Blitar Station, Tulungagung Station, Kediri Station, Nganjuk Station, Madiun Station, Paron Station, Kedunggalar Station, Walikukun Station, Solo Jebres Station, Semarang Tawang Station, Pekalongan Station, Tegal Station, and Prujakan Cirebon Station. However, the train heading to Pasar Senen also stops at Jatinegara Station. And the train heading to Malang Kota Baru Station also stops at Sragen Station, right before entering Walikukun Station. Majapahit Train is a Non-PSO (public service obligation) Economy Class train. Hence, they provide better facilities than other trains of the same type. Each passenger car is equipped with two units of AC, a restroom, 64-80 seats covered by a leather material with a 2-2 arrangement, electrical sockets, small table, and luggage storage. Passengers can also buy lunch or dinner in the buffet car. Besides, they can also get foods and drink on their seats with attendant services.
