Jet Airways: An Introduction

Jet Airways is the second largest airline in India in terms of market share and one of the country’s first private airlines that survived the global financial crisis of the early noughties. The airline, which is a subsidiary of Tailwind Ltd, flies to 65 destinations in total, 45 of which are cities in India and the rest 20 are destinations in Europe, Asia and North America. Jet Airways provides three cabin classes for its passengers. They are Economy, Première, and First Class.

Jet Airways Seat Class

Economy Class

Economy Class passengers are spoiled with soft seats complete with headrests and footrests and an in-flight entertainment facility to ensure their comfort. Through the 10.6-inch LCD screens in front of them, passengers get to enjoy the latest movies, games, TV shows and music, which will keep them entertained for the entirety of the flight.

In-flight Meal

Economy Class serves both Indian and international menus. Passengers can make special orders, such as vegetarian, seafood, oriental and medical (i.e. low-calorie or diabetic meals), to meet their dietary restrictions. Muslim passengers can also enjoy halal food onboard the flight. No matter the menu, Jet Airways always strives to provide the best onboard culinary experience for its passengers.

Première Class

Première Class passengers on international flights get to enjoy seats that are reclinable to fully flat beds, allowing them to read their favorite books while sitting comfortably or have a full night’s sleep. Each seat is separated from another, which ensures the utmost privacy, and equipped with a power outlet and a 15.4-inch LCD screen that can be adjusted to meet the passenger’s sitting and lying down position. Popcorn will also be served onboard to provide a more enjoyable flight experience. Meanwhile, passengers flying on domestic flights will receive a comfortable seat with spacious leg room.

In-flight Meal

The airline offers “Dine Anytime” concept onboard international flights. The feature, available only on A330 and Boeing 777 aircraft, allows passengers to choose and have their meals outside of the designated dining schedule. Première Class passengers on any flight are able to choose from high-quality teas such as Assam, green tea, chamomile tea, Darjeeling tea, Kashmiri Kawa and spiced oolong.

First Class

Available only on international flights, First Class offers facilities more luxurious than in other cabin classes, making passengers feel like they are staying in a hotel room. Its suite, for instance, offers dual sliding doors for privacy and features soft light. The suite is equipped with a 23-inch LCD screen for in-flight entertainment, complete with a noise-canceling headphone. Passengers can choose from a wide variety of entertainment, from Bollywood movies to Hollywood blockbusters, Jukebox music and TV shows that will accompany the passengers during long-haul international flights.

In-flight Meal

This class offers five international menus accompanied by selected quality wines, including Bollinger La Grande Année, world whiskeys and Jet Airways’ specially concocted cocktails. Passengers can also enjoy special teas such as Flowery Bouquet and Makaibari in addition to the ones offered in Première Class.
