Air France: An Introduction

Air France is an airline based in France, a subsidiary of Air France–KLM Group, as well as a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance. Since its establishment in 1993, the airline has won various awards, such as World’s Most Improved Airline from World Airline Awards. Operating flight services to 36 domestic destinations and 168 international destinations, Air France offers four classes of services, ranging from Economy Class, Premium Economy Class, Business Class, and La Première.

Air France Seat Class

Economy Class

The seats in the Economy Class are spacious and can be reclined up to a 118-degree angle. Each seat is designed with an adjustable headrest and footrest, allowing a more enjoyable flight experience to passengers. The Economy Class seats are also equipped with touch-screen HD monitors that provide a wide variety of movies, music, TV series, and cartoons, that are available in 12 languages. Moreover, each seat is completed with an electrical outlet and USB port, which can be found right below the seat monitor.

In-flight Meal

Air France offers various menus ranging from Asian and Western cuisines, as well as other local delicacies from all around the world. Passengers can choose up to two hot meals, depending on the destination.

Premium Economy Class

The Premium Economy Class cabin has been redesigned and improved to provide more comfort to Air France passengers. Facilities in this cabin include 12-inch HD monitors, personal storage spaces, spacious table, and electrical outlets which can be utilized to charge personal electronic devices. Meals served in Business Class vary depending on the flight route. Passengers departing from Paris will be given special menus cooked by top chefs from France such as Regis Marcon, Michel Roth, and Guy Martin. Meanwhile, passengers departing from Paris to Seoul will be presented with dishes specially cooked by the Korean Chef, Young-Young Kim.

La Première

La Première, Air France’s first class service, offers high-level facilities in the form of a private suite equipped with a seat that can be adjusted into a two-meter long flatbed. This facility is completed with a comfortable sponge mattress, as well as hotel-quality pillow and blanket. Aside from 1,000 hours of on-demand in-flight entertainment, passengers can also take delight in shopping activities through a 24-inch HD monitor. Moreover, Air France also provides travel kit for its La Première passengers, containing facial care products specially made by Carita from Paris and clothes made with high-quality cotton for a more comfortable flight experience.

The program is divided into four membership tiers, starting from Ivory, Silver, Gold, to Platinum as the highest tier. Air France In-flight Crew

Air France’s flight attendant uniform is designed by a top French designer, Christian Lacroix. Wearing a classic blue collared-dress paired with stockings and black heels, the female flight attendant uniform possesses a very elegant and stylish look. The uniform is completed with a glamorous scarf, a pair of leather gloves, and a red big ribbon on the waist. Meanwhile, the male flight attendants look fashionable wearing a black vest and suit, complete with a matching tie.

Air France Passenger Policy

Infant Passenger Policy (0-2 Years Old)

  • Infants less than seven days old are not allowed on board.
  • Infants must be accompanied by adult passengers, sitting in the same cabin.
  • Passengers traveling with two infants are required to buy another ticket for one of the infants so they can occupy an individual seat.
  • Infant passengers with an individual ticket are allowed the same baggage capacity as adult passengers.

Child Passenger Policy (2-12 Years Old)

  • Children between 2–11 years old traveling on a domestic flight, or children between 2–15 years old traveling on an international flight, will be categorized as child passengers.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult that is at least 18 years old.
  • Children must be seated in the same cabin with their parents or guardian.
  • Child passengers are allowed the same baggage capacity as adult passengers.
  • Passengers are allowed to bring strollers and will not be charged an additional fee. vStrollers can also be carried on board, as long as it does not exceed the maximum dimension of 12 x 30 x 100 cm.
  • Air France provides an unaccompanied service for children traveling without parents or adult guardians.

Pregnant Passenger Policy

  • Air France does not recommend pregnant women, whose pregnancy is in its last period or within seven days after delivery, to be onboard.
  • Pregnant passengers are not required to provide a medical certificate. However, she must consult with a physician before departure.
  • Pregnant passengers with specific dietary requirements should pre-order their meals at least two and a half hours prior to departure.
  • Pregnant passengers can reserve special services for pregnant passengers, such as chauffeur service to or from the airport, baggage pick-up and delivery service, as well as assistance at the airport.

Disabled Passenger Policy

  • Air France provides maximum service for passengers with disabilities.
  • Passengers with disabilities who can travel alone but still need assistance during the flight can reserve for special services at least 48 hours before departure.
  • Passengers with disabilities are allowed to bring their guardian dog into the cabin. Air France also provides Guide Dog Facilities for passengers with disabilities without an additional fee.
  • All Air France crew members are trained to communicate with hearing-impaired passengers
