Grand Mercure Yogyakarta Adi Sucipto

Stayed here for 4 days 3 nights, booked 3 rooms. Got upgraded to a bigger room on the top floor. Unfortunately had to move rooms 2x because the first room smelled of cigarette smoke (even though I booked a non-smoking room), the second room had a lot of damage, the refrigerator had spots like mold. The first day of staying at this hotel was disappointing, but after the 2nd and 3rd days it became quite enjoyable after walking around Yogyakarta with my family. What I like about this hotel: affordable price, not far from the city center, got a bigger room, friendly staff (very helpful when moving rooms and when there were complaints). There is a staff at the restaurant named Devita who is very friendly.

The food is quite varied, but in the egg corner there are no sausage displays like other starred hotels. So when you want to ask for sausage, you have to ask the egg corner officer, and they always say "wait a minute, sir". So I'm lazy to ask again. It's like begging just for sausage. Too bad just because of sausage every time you have breakfast you have to ask for sausage again.

The service was excellent. The cleanliness of the hotel was very pleasant.

There is a swimming pool for children and adults, comfortable enough to enjoy with family.

I stayed 2 nights on the weekend, the Check In process was quite fast and easy. The room condition was clean and tidy, although the interior such as the chairs were quite Old Fashioned but it did not reduce the comfort of my rest. The Housekeeping staff was also very helpful, my request to change the sheets, bedcover the next day was fulfilled well. In the room the facilities are quite complete: cool box, hair dryer, Tea Set and also provided Ice Bucket. The location of the hotel is quite strategic, not far from the famous RM Ayam Goreng Tojoyo 3, also several Malls such as Ambarukmo Plaza, Lippo. Some suggestions from me: the aroma in the elevator could be chosen to be fresher, when I and other guests entered the elevator we commented on the same aroma of Spa-style spices that were too sharp. Last but not least the Security Officer was very helpful in helping with my luggage. Thank you.

The bedroom is not soundproof, sometimes rest is disturbed by the activities of other guests. The room decoration is not attractive/not aesthetic. The water heater smells so that coffee and tea also smell of plastic.

Everything was excellent, except there was a small roach by the entrance door of the room. Not a big deal, just didn't expect it from a big name hotel. Other than that, everything was excellent, the breakfast was good, with a variety of food to choose from.

The hotel looks old, entering the corridor area smells musty. The toilet is not clean and smells, The basement parking is poorly lit, so it is dark.

I was a bit disappointed with the inadequate parking facilities in the hotel building, because we had to park next to the hotel in the Wanitatama area next to the hotel, where we had to walk to the hotel. Moreover, the staff who arranged the parking, there was an empty parking space that could not be occupied on the grounds that it had been reserved a week ago. If we had known that the parking space could be reserved, we would definitely have reserved the parking space during our stay so we wouldn't have to walk to the hotel.

The kids were really happy staying at Mercure... especially my daughter, there were pillows and bolsters in the hotel... she was really happy

a little disappointed when buying tickets on March 9 for 3 nights for a holiday on March 29. got a price of more than 1 million, it turned out that the closer to the booking date, the hotel price dropped to around 700 thousand. didn't get compensation for upgrading the room type or breakfast from the hotel either. even though when checking in the hotel price was still below 1 million.

At the reception they didn't tell me if the breakfast wasn't buffet. Disappointing.
