Pleiku is a capital city in central Vietnam, situated in that nation's central highland area. Pleiku is the capital of the Gia Lai region. Many years ago, it was populated primarily by the Jarai and Bahnar ethnic groups, sometimes called the Montagnards or Degar. Today, it is mainly inhabited by the Kinh ethnic group.
