I stayed for 6 nights at the Mercure Nexa Pettarani. My experience staying there are some pros and cons. Pros: welcoming staff at check in friendly. Breakfast varies every day, although the taste is standard hotel some are good, some are average. I can store my stuff in the hotel freezer during my stay. For location, Mercure is close to several Makassar culinary spots. Cons: I was given a twin room, but they said it would be set like a double. My imagination is (because when staying at Mercure Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, a twin cover mattress and a double duvet bed were given). But no, I still got a twin duvet cover. Blankets and sheets were not clean, changed every two days but I always got stained ones. Hotel staff are not all friendly. For example, I am in a restaurant, the waitress who lifts dirty dishes never excuses me when taking my dirty dishes, just stays silent. When I passed the hotel staff, it was also rare for anyone to greet me. And lastly the staff who cleaned my room in the last few days (Thursday/Friday) knocked on my room softly. When I didn't have time to respond the hotel staff had already opened my room, (luckily at that time I had locked the key in the room). If the hotel staff doesn't know I'm in the room, it's impossible, because I turn on the TV, and the hotel room is not soundproof. Is it customary to open the room when guests are in the room? It was my first time experiencing it at Mercure Pettarani. Overall, if you want a place that has easy access everywhere, Mercure can be a consideration. But if you want a place for a comfortable staycation with friendly staff, I don't recommend this hotel.
