Staff was really nice and helpful. The water had a strange smell and taste, I don't know where they got it from. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay

The hotel is not easily accessible because the access road towards the hotel has been blocked by the owner (according to them). But that was not much of an issue for us. What was really disappointing is that the hotel did not check their Traveloka account if there are bookings so when we arrived they had booked all their available rooms. They had a spare room which was not for rent at the moment since the television/cable was broken. We were really tired so we had no choice but to accept the room.

My partner got bed bug bites all over her legs 😢. The service is not available when we need assistance on a Sunday morning, only manong guard is available. Had to look for a drugstore to buy ointments for the bites.

The place is nice because it is near the airport and Alona Beach. I appreciate that it has free shuttle to and from Alona Beach. There are nearby stores on the main road, as well. You have to walk around five minutes only or less. Breakfast is not grand. Expect a typical menu - a cup of rice, a fruit, one type of viand, which can be two pieces of skinless longganisa and the like. The wifi is not strong. Its signal is better outside the rooms, though. Our room is not big but it's comfy and clean. Air conditioning and hot shower are definitely great. The staffs are accommodating and considerate, too. Thank you and God bless.

Tourists from around the world visit Panglao island to experience tropical life in the best possible way. Known for its pristine beaches and amazing underwater terrain, the island hosts quite a number of sites to see. Whether you’re the type of traveler who just wants to relax or you’re in for some adventure, Panglao has something for you. If you’re looking to rekindle your love for the country, Panglao is a great place to start. Everywhere you look will almost always be picture-perfect.

Why book a Panglao Villa?

South Palms Resort Panglao

Villas are considered one of the preferred accommodation types in Panglao. Compared to regular hotel rooms, villas offer more space and are therefore the ideal choice for families and big groups. Panglao villas in particular are considerably more popular because of beachfront options. Unlike rooms that are situated in buildings, villas give you direct access to the beachfront or resort facilities, which is considered a luxury for guests who love the outdoors. While villas might seem like a more expensive choice because of the obvious size advantage, in the end, it gives you more savings. This is because you no longer have to book multiple rooms, which when added up, becomes more expensive.

Types of Villas

Because Panglao is considered one of the premier tourist destinations in the Philippines there won’t be a shortage of accommodation types. If you haven’t decided what villa to book, here are some options to consider:

  • Beachfront Villa - if you’re traveling with someone special or simply want to splurge, beachfront villas are your best bet. These villas are usually more expensive than others as it offers direct access to the crystal-clear Panglao waters. What’s best is if you can choose a villa that offers unobstructed views from your window or balcony.
  • Family Villas - Big groups of at least four will appreciate the space family villas offer. These would come with multiple rooms and additional living space where guests can gather. Another popular feature that family villas offer is a fully-functional kitchen. This gives guests the option to stay in during meals, which is not only cheaper than eating out, it also is another opportunity to bond. When traveling with a big group, having a good-sized room to retreat to after a long day can make a world of a difference.

  • Destination Attractions & Activities

Panglao is the type of place where doing nothing is not a waste of time. While lying on the beach is an activity worth doing everyday, here are some activities that won’t disappoint:

  • Go on a “land tour” - Despite being famous for its waters and beaches, Pangalo also has a number of sites on land that are worth visiting. Take a trip to the Panglao Church and Watchtower, Hinagdanan Cove, and the Botanical Garden to complete your Panglao Itinerary.
  • Get a beachside massage - It’s hard to miss the hordes of masseuses who have set up their massage beds or mats on the beach. If you want the ultimate pampering experience, you might as well try a session. What’s best is the prices are decent and the view is unbeatable.
  • Go scuba diving - Panglao is most famous for their scuba sites. Just off the coast you’ll discover colorful reefs, deep slopes, and sites worth exploring. There are also areas further out that allow you to swim with all kinds of underwater creatures.

  • How to get around

All of the Philippines’ major local airlines fly straight to the new Panglao International Airport daily. There are also ferries from Cebu that travel to and from Panglao island every day. The ferry trip takes about two hours. If you’re staying in a big chain hotel they usually offer shuttle services to town and tourist spots. Some travellers prefer to rent a motorcycle to explore the island on their own.
