What is Sustainable Tourism?

According to the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC®), Sustainable Tourism refers to sustainable practices in and by the tourism industry. It is an aspiration to acknowledge all impacts on tourism, both positive and negative. It aims to minimize the negative impact and maximize the positive ones.

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC®) is managing the GSTC Criteria, the global standards for sustainable travel and tourism; as well as providing international accreditation for sustainable tourism Certification Bodies.
