Sri Tanjung Train
Sri Tanjung is a train operated by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Indonesian Railways Company) that serves the route between Banyuwangi and Yogyakarta. This air-conditioned economy class train covers long-distance track, with Banyuwangi Baru Station and Yogyakarta Lempuyangan Station as its main stops. The express train, which is operated under 9th Operational Region of Jember, covers the distance of 614 kilometers every day, with the approximate speed of 40 and 90 kilometers per hour. The travel duration for each trip is around 13 to 15 hours.
Sri Tanjung Train serves one regular back-and-forth trip every day. The train departs from Yogyakarta Lempuyangan Station to Banyuwangi Baru Station at 07.00 AM. The trip is about 13.5 hours-long, and the train arrives in Banyuwangi at 08.30 PM. On the other side, the train leaves from Banyuwangi Baru Station at 06.30 AM. The trip is around 12.5 hours-long, and the train arrives in Yogyakarta at 07.30 PM. The government subsidizes the ticket price, and it uses flat tariff, which is IDR 94,000 per passenger.
The train has several facilities for comfort during travel. All passengers will feel comfortable during a trip with air conditioners in all the carriages. The toilet is available at the end of every passenger carriage. There is a wall socket beside every passenger seat to recharge cell phone battery. There are also small tables to put drinks or snacks. Passengers who bring large baggage can keep it in the storage space above their seats, or in special baggage carriage. Foods and drinks are sold in dedicated restaurant carriage.

Origins of Name
Sri Tanjung is the name of the main character in Banyuwangi folklore. She was a beautiful girl who was a descendant of a goddess. When she died, her body produced fragrant water stream, which was thought as a sign of purity and fidelity toward her husband.

This economy class train has 636 seats, and its carriages are pulled by CC201, CC203, or CC206 locomotive. The whole train consists of one baggage carriage, six passenger carriages, and a restaurant carriage. Each passenger carriage of Sri Tanjung Train has a total of 106 seat numbers.
Stopovers
Sri Tanjung Train makes a stop at thirty stations along its regular route for stopovers. Some of the stations in the train’s stopover list include Banyuwangi Baru, Karangasem, Rogojampi, Temuguruh, Kalisetail, Sumberwadung, Glenmore, Kalibaru, Kalisat, Jember, Rambipuji, Tanggul, Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Bangil, Sidoarjo, Surabaya Gubeng, Wonokromo, Mojokerto, Jombang, Kertosono, Nganjuk, Caruban, Madiun, Barat, Paron, Walikukun, Sragen, Purwosari, Klaten, and Lempuyangan.
For passengers who travel to Lempuyangan Station, Sri Tanjung Train will make a stop at Curahmalang Station for a railway crossing. The train also stops at Geneng Station and Tanggulangin Station for the same purpose when it travels to Banyuwangi Baru Station.
Unique Route
When arriving at Surabaya Gubeng Station, Sri Tanjung Train will shift its locomotive position. The first carriage is changed into the last because the train is going back to its previous stopover, Wonokromo Station. From there, the train makes a turn to Sidoarjo, to continue its trip to Banyuwangi.
