What is the Difference Between the Ordinary Car and the Green Car?

For a more efficient, cheaper, and easier trip, the Ordinary Car offers great value. With the Ordinary Car, you don’t have to reserve seats before boarding, making transfers between trains much easier. However, since passengers don’t need to reserve seats in advance, the Ordinary Car can be more crowded than the Green Car.

Travel comfortably on Ordinary cars with 2+3 or 2+2 seating layouts

Meanwhile, if you want more comfort and more space on the train, the Green Car is the right choice. Marked with a green clover symbol, Green Cars offer more spacious seating and bigger legroom for a comfortable journey. They are usually less crowded than Ordinary Cars because all seats must be reserved before boarding. You can make seat reservations at the JR ticket office, but only after you have redeemed your JR Pass.

How do I buy and use the JR Pass?

Select the JR Pass type you want. Then, fill in the date and address for your Exchange Order delivery. Before completing your purchase, make sure you have provided your full name correctly according to your passport.

After you complete this purchase, you will receive a Traveloka E-Voucher.

What should I do after purchase?

After you make your purchase, Wendy Tour will contact you from the phone number 087700010102 to verify your personal information and confirm your booking. You will need to give them your home address so they can send you the Exchange Order. The Exchange Order will be delivered by a courier service.

You should get your Exchange Order within 4-7 days after buying it, or on the delivery date you picked when you made the purchase.

You have 90 days to exchange your Exchange Order for the actual JR Pass in Japan. Once you exchange it, you need to start using your JR Pass within 30 days.

At the JR Exchange Office, bring your passport and Exchange Order, and fill out the form. Include the date you plan to start using your JR Pass. After you get the JR Pass, you can choose any start date within 30 days.

How to use JR Pass
